A Whole Year to Organize for Tax Day 2010
Wednesday, 15 April 2009
Neat WeberFinishing your taxes can be a process especially when running your own business. With the personal tax deadline today, it's a great time to quickly review what can make everything easier for next year. Two solutions made this year a lot easier for us.

Payroll on the Mac While QuickBooks for Mac has fewer features than the Windows version, you can indeed run payroll. Paycycle is a web-based payroll solution integrated into QuickBooks. For less than $50 a month, you can quickly pay your contractors and employees. Their phone support has answered every question we've had. At the end of the year for a small fee, all tax documents were printed and files electronically. The service even provides amounts and instructions for forms that Colorado does not accept electronically.

Receipts without all the paper You need to track everything, but today you get receipts, invoices and statements on paper and through email. NeatReceipts powered by NeatWorks for Mac has cleared our office of paper and consolidated all paper and email receipts into an IRS approved, searchable database. It scans receipts with powerful character recognition that allows you to drag any portion of the receipts to customizable fields and learns as it goes. Emailed receipts and invoices are easily sent to the database right within Apple Mail. It can also process business cards, documents and much more.

Daylite Touch Released
Tuesday, 31 March 2009
At midnight last night, Daylite Touch for the iPhone along with a significant Daylite Productivity Suite update was released by the innovative team at Marketcircle.

MacWorks was fortunate enough to be included with a handful of other companies worldwide beta testing both since January as a Daylite Master Partner. We have collaborated closely with Marketcircle on a day to day basis working with these two rock solid solutions for business.

Daylite Touch ExpertsDaylite Touch is an amazing companion to Daylite turning your iPhone into a live productivity tool with unrivaled potential. Daylite Productivity Suite completely rebuilds the offline database syncing engine to provide for the fastest access to the full database from anywhere in the world.

We recently switched over a green energy company with offices in Boulder, Chicago and Canada and a sales force all over the country to an early release. The performance increase for their offsite users has been exponential. The competitive edge running Macs and iPhones for their organization and sales team is incredible. We are also completing a transition for a real estate organization from Agent 2000 web-based CRM to Daylite and are very excited for the potential it will offer their agents.

The thought that went into the interface and features of Daylite Touch blows all similar mobile solutions completely out of the water.

Personalized demos can be scheduled here.

Netflix Instant Watching for Mac
Monday, 03 November 2008
Netflix announced via their website on Friday that Macintosh users can now access the company's instant watching feature to watch movies and videos directly from their computers. The service uses the Silverlight streaming video plugin, a free download from Microsoft, and requires an Intel based Macintosh. The newly Mac compatible instant watching is currently in beta and Netflix warns that users could experience bugs in this initial phase of public testing. Access to the instant watching feature is available free to most Netflix monthly subscribers.

Reports in blog posts from Macintosh users already testing the system are positive. As for the instant watching selection, one user reports: Instant watching is not as deep a collection as the DVD collection, the streaming service is just a complement to the DVDs. Netflix says they recently added more movies to the streaming service and new episodes of popular TV shows like Heroes, CSI and NCIS. Current Netflix subscribers must first opt-in for the new beta streaming player and can then access the feature via the Watch Instantly tab on the Netlix website.

The opt-in link is: http:www.netflix.com/silverlightoptin
